Notches, Natch!

I wish I were clever enough to have thought of this myself, but I didn't. I learned this trick while reading my costumers group bulletin...

I have always wanted a professional notcher so that I didn't have to cut little triangles into all my pattern pieces. The notcher goes more quickly and all your notches are uniform. I like to keep my patterns as neat as I can.

Well, those notchers are pretty darn expensive! So when I read that this woman had found a hole punch for scrap-booking that made rectangular "holes" and was using that for her notches, I got to the art store as soon as I could. Lee's on 57th btwn 7th and 8th has quite a selection of scrap book items, and sure enough they had the hole punchers. I found one that had a tear drop shape--I use just the front of the teardrop to make my notch. It works great, as you can see.

Overcoming hardships

We all have days where we feel that everything is going against us; that no matter how hard we try nothing goes our way. Sometimes it is hard to catch just one break. On days like that it is easy to want to give in, give up, give out. Self pity sets in. You just want to crawl back into bed.

Well, the next time you have one of those days, think about this tree.

Imagine growing up with a 300 lbs. rock on top of you!

Happy Hearts

(This just in: use "LOVE" code at the checkout to receive Free Shipping!)

Just in case you've been wondering what ever happened to all the Valentine's that were sent to Fred Flare...they are now on sale!

They are being sold in surprise lots, so you can't pick out one in particular, but they are all so creative that I think you would be happy with any one. And the money goes to Elder Craftsmen. They have just lost their city funding, so you can really help them out by with your purchase.

But Valentine's Day is just around the corner--order yours now so it gets to you in time!
